Silpo in Kyiv Styled as a Scientific Culinary Laboratory 31.10.2024

On October 31, the Silpo supermarket chain opened a new store in Kyiv, styled after molecular gastronomy—a culinary trend in which science meets cooking.

The store features images of chef-scientists performing gastronomic wonders with unusual kitchen tools such as flasks, test tubes, and other laboratory instruments. Navigation inside the store is also unique: Guests will find cash registers near stands with flasks, and department signs are placed in transparent boxes, symbolizing the sterility and purity of the products.

Every interior element tells a story about transforming everyday products into something extraordinary. Instead of traditional signs, there are Petri dishes, where the "magic" of breaking down food into molecules occurs. In the fruits and vegetables section, the DNA symbol hints that every product has its unique taste code. The alcohol section resembles a laboratory, with installations of flasks that create an authentic scientific atmosphere.

Guests can find all the ingredients for flavor experiments at home or in the food court at the new Silpo supermarket. The bakery makes fresh bread, fragrant pastries, and pizza daily, while the culinary section prepares beloved dishes. The ‘Shop of Traditions’ (‘Lavka Traditsiy’) corner offers a selection of local products, and visitors in the seafood department can try freshly smoked fish.

The new supermarket covers 1697.6 m² and is open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM at 32 Maksymovycha Street, Kyiv. Guests can also use the underground parking.

In case of power outages, the store will function as a care and resilience point, offering free Wi-Fi and device charging stations.
