Fozzy Group is one of the first in Ukraine to implement the Nutri-Score product labeling system 16.03.2023
Fozzy Group is one of the first groups of companies in Ukraine to receive permission to use the European Nutri-Score product labeling system. This will make it easier for guests of our Silpo, Fora, Thrash!

In the spring of 2023, Nutri-Score labeling will appear on 60 products of Fozzy Group's own brands: Premium, Povna Chasha, Feels Good. The new colorful label will be applied first to deli fish, canned vegetables, snacks, ice cream, jams, and some other products. Over the next year, the Nutri-Score label will be applied to all food products of these private labels.

The implementation of Nutri-Score will allow our guests to visually compare the nutritional value of products, choose the healthiest product and save their time.

What is Nutri-Score?

Nutri-Score is a color-coded labeling system that helps to compare the nutritional value of products in the same category. Products are labeled on the front of the package.

How does Nutri-Score work?

The labeling system is depicted as a 5-color scale: fr om dark green to red. The colors are associated with letters from A to E. The "A" mark corresponds to products with the best nutritional value, and the "E" mark is given to products with a lower nutritional value. This color-coded labeling will help you immediately identify foods that can be eaten regularly (green) and those that are less suitable for a balanced diet and daily ration (red). The Nutri-Score is always calculated per 100 g (100 ml) of food.

The formula of benefits

The Nutri-Score is calculated using the following mathematical formula:

Nutri-Score score = N - P. The logic of the formula is simple: a food product receives a score from 0 to 40 depending on the amount of "negative" nutrients - N, the consumption of which should be lim ited or consumed in moderation (sugar, saturated fat, salt, high energy value). The second set of points from 0 to 15 is based on the amount of "positive" nutrients - P - that are beneficial for the body (content of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, walnuts, rapeseed and olive oils, proteins, dietary fibers). The lower the total score, the better the nutritional value rating of the product. The formula is slightly different for drinks and some foods, such as cheese.

What you need to know about Nutri-Score

Nutri-Score, a scientifically based nutrition labeling system for foods, was created by the Santé Publique France health agency and approved by the French government in March 2017. It is also used in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Spain. A number of other countries are in the process of implementing it. The color-coded Nutri-Score labeling for most products helps to better inform customers about the characteristics and use it for a balanced diet.

This labeling is in addition to the mandatory nutritional information on the product.
