Silpo supermarket chain announces the start of official cooperation with Vivino, the world's largest wine community and mobile wine rating app.
As part of the pilot project, 37 Silpo stores have installed wine racks with wines of Vlasnyi Import, which are highly rated by Vivino users. You can find out the rating of a wine by scanning its label in the Vivino app. According to the Vivino scale, a wine with a score of 3.7 and higher is considered worthy of attention.
If the pilot is successful, Silpo will expand the project to 250 supermarkets in November.
"We see that it is sometimes difficult for guests to navigate the wine assortment. It takes time to make a choice, and not everyone wants to talk to a sommelier. Although wine is actually a simple topic. The manufacturer's name or titles sometimes do not play a big role. You either like wine or you don't. The Vivino app has made wine selection a democratic and simple process. It's enough to scan the label and find out the average score among other users. Therefore, this cooperation is fully in line with Silpo's strategy of forming an assortment where wine is a simple choice," says Anna Pecker, Head of Wine of Vlasnyi Import at Silpo.
According to Anna Pecker, Vivino responded quickly and eagerly to Silpo's offer to start a partnership. The company's co-founder Heini Zachariassen met with Silpo's team in Lviv to share his thoughts on the development of the service. In addition, Ukrainian users of the app are among Vivino's top 20 by the number of scans.
"It is especially interesting for us to cooperate with like-minded people who share our cultural mission and passion for wine. At Silpo, we strive to make the complex and subjective topic of wine selection easy," adds Anna Pecker.
